Wetland Series 1 (2025)
Photography has a capacity to draw our attention to the commonplace. Nothing on earth is more commonplace than water. Commonplace but crucial. From the muddy puddle to the open sea, water supports life, whether as habitats or as vital refreshment. In this series I explore the water bodies close to home, in the New Forest wetlands and on the Solent shores.
This set of (lo-res) scans are of the original gelatin silver prints produced for display for Hampshire Open Studios in August 2025. The images show the New Forest streams near Brockenhurst and Lyndhurst and the New Forest coast at Keyhaven. These waters represent some of the most important freshwater and coastal habitats remaining in the UK
